Your desktop companion

Someone to talk to,
always within reach.

A small glowing presence on your desktop. Talk out loud — she helps you do things, and helps you through things. She remembers, and nothing ever leaves your machine.

v0.13.0 · experimental preview · Windows today · macOS & Linux coming soon

A conversation, not a chat window.

There is nothing to open and nothing to type into. She sits at the edge of your screen, and the whole exchange happens out loud.

You speak

No wake word, no button. Just start talking.

She thinks

You can see her working it out.

She answers

Out loud, with a real voice. Cut her off anytime.

She remembers

What matters sticks. Tomorrow, too.

Meet her where you live.

The orb is the conversation. Behind it sits a dashboard where nothing about her is hidden from you.

The orb

the conversation
  • A small floating orb that sits quietly on top of your screen
  • Summon her from anywhere with a hotkey, talk, then get back to it
  • One command installs her — she lands in your Start Menu
yumii dashboard

Chats every conversation, resumable
Memory what she knows about you
Tools what she's allowed to touch
Settings her mind, voice, and mood

The dashboard

everything, visible
  • Every conversation, resumable — she picks up where you left off
  • Her memory of you, in the open: browse it, edit it, delete it
  • Swap her mind, voice, ears, and personality anytime

Private by design

Nothing leaves your machine.

Her memory is files on your disk

Everything she knows about you sits in plain local storage. Read it, edit it, delete it. It's yours.

Keys in a file only you can read

API keys live in an owner-only local file with atomic writes — the same storage model Claude Code uses. Never on a server.

No account. No cloud. No telemetry.

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing phoning home. Close the app and she's simply asleep on your disk.

Open source under MIT. Check for yourself.

Small on your screen, capable underneath.

A companion first, but one that can actually help.

Real conversation

Talk naturally, out loud. She answers with a real voice, and if you cut her off mid-sentence she stops and listens.

Your choice of mind and voice

Plug in the provider you already use and pick the voice she speaks with. Offline listening included.

A memory that lasts

She learns the little things: your name, your projects, what you like. Any conversation picks up where it left off.

Gets things done

Ask her to search the web, read your inbox, or check your calendar. When a task reaches beyond your machine, she asks before acting — every time.

One companion, many colours.

Warm and nurturing today, sharp and teasing tomorrow. Switch her personality mid-conversation and she takes on a whole new tone.

Caring
warm, nurturing
Tsundere
sharp, secretly sweet
Genki
loud, high-energy
Kuudere
composed, cool
Yandere
intense, devoted
Dandere
quiet, shy at first

Bring her home

Two minutes, and she's yours.

Windows today; macOS and Linux coming soon. An everyday laptop is plenty — no GPU needed.

Thirteen releases in two months, and counting.

v0.13.0
July 2026

The polish release

Sharper web search that can never hang a turn, a smaller and tidier orb you move by grabbing it, and an installer that survives locked-down laptops.

v0.12.0
July 2026

The first-run release

A fresh install now guides you: her voice and ears download behind a progress bar, one key wakes her up, and nothing ever freezes silently.

v0.11.0
July 2026

One command, deeper memory

The single-command install arrives — and she starts searching every past conversation, writing her own facts, and knowing when things happened.

The orb is her first form.

Next she learns to see your screen, and to speak first when something matters. One day, an animated companion who blinks and emotes as she talks — the long dream. Yumii is open source and shaped in the open; the next feature might be yours.
